Recovering a Production Interface Environment After Hardware Failure

A hardware and disk incident damaged an interface environment. The priority was restoring production safely, then rebuilding the platform around replacement storage and backup assets.

The incident

A power-supply failure was followed by disk errors and bad blocks affecting the interface engine and related database/runtime components.

Recovery work

The damaged environment was stabilized long enough to recover what was needed. Replacement storage was installed, the interface runtime was reinstalled, and channels, JVM/runtime settings and scripts were migrated from backup.

Continuity

A temporary disaster-recovery path was put in place so interface operations could continue while the failed hardware path was addressed.

Why it matters

Interface platforms are production infrastructure. Recovery planning has to include configuration, scripts, runtime settings, certificates, dependencies and data—not only the operating system image.

Outcome

Restored production integration capability and converted an emergency into a clearer recovery path.
